Anyone know any good plushie makers?

Journal Entry: Mon Jun 16, 2008, 1:05 PM
I've been thinking of getting a Pickle plushie made. Well, I'd love to have plushies of all my characters, but Pickle in particular, just because it would look awesome.

So if anyone takes plushie commissions, or know of any people who do, let me know! I'm particularly looking for people who are good at making creature/fursona plushies, but any recommendations would be equally appreciated.

Original Art For Sale!

Journal Entry: Sun Jun 8, 2008, 4:08 PM
I'll cut straight to the point; I am currently over £100 in debt. Ack. I'd offer commissions, but I already have so many still to complete that it would be unfair of me to do so. So, it would be a wonderful help if you could please take a look at the things I have for sale on my Etsy and Ebay accounts.

I have just put a ton of original pieces up for sale on Etsy, and I am delighted to say that one piece has already sold, within a few hours of it going online! There are many popular pieces from my gallery up for grabs, such as 'DALEK' and 'Behind Bars'.

As for Ebay, at the time of writing this I only have one fairly boring thing for sale, but there will be some costume pieces and a customised punk leather jacket going on sale within the next few weeks, so keep an eye out!

Many thanks. :)

P.S. If you're interested in something on Etsy but can't or don't want to make an account, just let me know and I can sell it to you directly.

Thought it was about time I got that doom and gloom off the front page. In a nice contrast with the previous journal, we go from Big Questions to Petty Materialism. This list is just to remind myself of some auction stuff I want to have a go at winning, though you're welcome to have a look if you want. Don't bid on them though, unless you're buying them for me of course. 8D

Oh and also some people I would love to commission costumes from. This is mostly just to remind myself of all the stuff I could afford if I quit procrastinating and got myself a decent job.

I seriously need to update Projects & Commissions info. In fact, I seriously need to actually work on said projects and commissions. I'm surprised people haven't started asking for their money back.

Doomsday Devices.

Journal Entry: Wed May 14, 2008, 12:52 PM
I have to say I was a lot happier before I learnt about the existence of the Large Hadron Collider. It's a massive particle accelerator which apparently is either going to create EPIC SCIENCE or bring about the end of the world.

Like some kind of bad sci-fi disaster movie, this is ultimately a quest for power. It is an attempt to create an infinite energy source that will ensure the continuing prosperity of the human race after we've drained the planet of its fossil fuels. It could also however vaporise the planet within seconds of the machine being switched on.

Before you say anything, yes I am talking in extremes, I am a worrier and I am paranoid. I'm not some kind of religious fanatic and I don't have anything against the pursuit of knowledge. I know that my life is a worthless blip in time, but all the same, I am rather enjoying it. It's one thing for the Earth to be eventually rendered inhabitable. At least the planet itself would still be there, with potential to eventually recover and start over. But we're talking about erasing the Earth from existence, with nothing left to say that it was ever there. I don't know about you, but the thought of this is too upsetting to comprehend.

I also realise that there are plenty of other, more likely ways for the Earth to be instantly annihilated. What's aggravating me about this case in particular is that it's man-made and being done on purpose just to answer a few scientific questions. When there's even the remotest of chances that this thing could tear the planet apart, it begs the question as to how people are actually being allowed to create and use such a device. The sheer arrogance of mankind never fails to boggle my mind.

I suppose the motto of all this that life is like a box of quarks; you never know when they might turn into strangelets and swallow you whole.

So you know my life-size Eddy model? Well recently I've been toying with the idea of taking him apart and selling the mannequin. Now before you all say 'nuuu but the Eddy prop is cool, you can't just destroy him', try and see it from my point of view;

My house is modest, and I don't have a studio or any place to store large art projects. Currently, Eddy is taking up my entire sofa, I can't find any further use for him, and he's starting to fall apart anyway. I don't feel a need to restore him unless I know he will be used for something. As I mentioned elsewhere, in terms of representing the character of Eddy, I was never particularly satisfied with how he turned out, another reason why I wouldn't feel too guilty about taking him apart.

Even so, I don't think I could sell him or donate him as he exists now, because Eddy is not yet established enough that I would be comfortable with someone else owning something relating to the character. That's why, at the moment, I'm thinking that the best option would be to remove the Eddy modificiations and sell the mannequin at a hefty discount on the original price (due to the surface damage it will have sustained from being modified). Posable mannequins are very popular with hardcore cosplayers for displaying their costumes, but are difficult to get hold of, let alone at a reasonable price, so I'm confident that it would sell. The mannequin on its own cost me about £200 ($400), so you can understand why the model is now, sadly, feeling like a very expensive waste of space.

However I am very open to suggestions as to what to do with him. I put alot of work into him so it's hard not to get nostalgic. If you think you know a way I could sell the Eddy model without endangering my ownership of the character, I'd like to hear your ideas.
